“A Ten Week Program for A Successful Life After Confinement”

GROUP Ministries has contracted with The East Ferry Juvenile Detention Center and the Board of Education to provide a 10-week transitional services program to assist adolescents with finding resources to help them move forward once released.

GROUP will introduce the adolescents to 10 “community educators” who offer a range of resources such as soft skills: resume writing, interviewing and filling out job applications. GROUP will also offer a selection of job and job trainings opportunities to suit the variety of interests among adolescents. This program meets once a week on Saturdays from 1:00-3:00 at the facility in the Life Skills classroom.

The hope of this program is to empower the adolescents to utilize community resources and to rely on the help available to them from people who will support them while they manifest their dreams and aspirations.
